Private Law Proceedings

We have considerable experience undertaking assessments and providing therapeutic work in private law proceedings, usually regarding issues of contact.

Geographical Area Served

We are able to offer the above services anywhere in England and Wales. We usually travel to where the carers and children live in order to undertake our assessment interviews or any therapeutic work with families.

N.B. We are in private practice and totally independent. We have no formal association with any other statutory, voluntary or independent child care agency.

Assessment

We offer a risk assessment service to explore the viability of whether it might be made safe enough for children to be able to return to their carers. This opinion is usually reached from a detailed study of the Court papers, interviews with the child’s carers and members of their support network. We may also liaise with the key professionals involved, such as the Children’s Guardian and Local Authority Social Worker.

Therapeutic Work

Should our assessment be positive we are able to offer a Resolutions programme of therapeutic work / ongoing assessment to enable children to return home in as safe a way as possible. We work in partnership with the professional and wider family systems to help create current and future safety. We also offer a follow-up review three to six months after the work is finished.
